Department of Social Science

Battambang Teacher Education College was established in 2017 according to, through Sub-Decree No.73 dated 22nd May 2017. The College had divided in to three offices and 7 departments. The Department of Social Sciences began to operate from that time as well as other departments. The department has structured the division of roles and responsibilities. There are a number of subjects under the auspices of the Department of Social Sciences: History, Geography, Teaching Methods, Social Studies, Morality, Citizenship, Home Economics, Basic Life Skills, Education, Arts, Health Education. The department was established in order to facilitate to manage each subject, separate into social subjects, put the job to the right specialty, serve student teachers on specialties, facilitate teaching and learning on time. In addition, the department has provided some services such as: instructor Research Program, counseling for student learning outcomes, developing of arts and housing skills, developing of basic life skills, providing new teaching methods for teaching and learning.

  • Provide health education skills (health room management, first aid, comprehensive dissemination of health issues ...)
5 Basic Life Skills
  • Provides basic skills such as agriculture (animal husbandry, vegetable growing ... etc.)
6 Moral Civic
  • Provide basic knowledge which enable students changing their attitude.

7 Home-economy
  • Provide knowledge in connection with real life problems/ situations.
  • Change the mindset of learners to give importance to some jobs (chore) , especially men.

  • Provide knowledge that related to art to promote culture
